He is widely  sought after for his clinical insight  and keen ability to quickly see a clinical picture and provide appropriate advice for targeted intervention. He is licensed in Louisiana and California. He is fully bilingual (Spanish).

Rafael and Beth have three adult children.  They share a passion for ministering to others with their God-given skills and allowing God to use them  for the healing of those He brings their way.

Beth Salcedo received her graduate degree in Speech/Language Pathology in 1984 from the University of Northern Colorado. She completed her internship at Children’s Hospital in New Orleans and has been providing Speech/Language Services to pediatric and adult populations in the greater metropolitan area of New Orleans since that time. Throughout the years her passion and therapeutic focus has been developing pragmatic/social communication skills with children that have difficulty  communicating, thus connecting with their world, due to their neurodiversity.

Beth created  Louisiana's  first Brain Injury Life Skills program at F. Edward Hebert Hospital, and years later developed the Northshore's first Brain Injury support group. Since that time, Beth's therapeutic emphasis has been on providing intervention, support and direction  to children and  families suffering from Autistic Spectrum Disorder  and other neurogenic disorders.

During their personal time, Beth and Rafael have also been active as advocates for Child Sex Trafficking children in Louisiana, opening the Free Indeed Home, the first Therapeutic Group Home in Louisiana which provided  healing and restoration to girls, ages 12-18 who were victims of child sex trafficking. During that time, they identified several girls that were undiagnosed, but manifested symptoms consistent with ASD, which made them vulnerable to traffickers.

Beth holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association, and is licensed in Louisiana and California.

Occupational Therapist

Alex brings a dynamic and evidence-based approach to the team’s comprehensive psychological evaluation process. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from the University of Southern Mississippi and went on to obtain her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

As Therapeutic Learning Center’s Therapy Director, and NNR Autism Center's Occupational Therapist,  Alex is passionate about making therapy engaging and meaningful for every child, integrating evidence-based interventions with a playful, family-centered approach. She has specialized training in feeding therapy and reflex integration, which enhances the depth of her evaluations and interventions.

Alex collaborates closely with Dr. Salcedo,  our psychologist and Beth Salcedo, our speech-language pathologist to ensure that each child’s occupational profile is fully understood — from sensory processing and fine motor skills to self-regulation and functional participation. Her goal is to help every child reach their fullest potential while empowering families with strategies they can carry over at home.

When she’s not in the clinic, Alex enjoys spending time at the beach, attending concerts, and relaxing with friends, family, and her dog, Weezy.
